Canadian Embassy and Phalanx Team Up on FedRAMP

The Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C., and phalanx are teaming up to provide Canadian technology companies with expertise relating to the U.S. government’s Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP).

FedRAMP was established in 2011 to provide the government with a risk-based approach for the adoption and use of cloud services. Recent moves have raised FedRAMP’s stature as the government’s standardized approach to security authorizations for Cloud Service Offerings.

“I’m pleased to work with the Trade Commissioner Service of the Canadian Embassy in
Washington, D.C. to provide insight into the FedRAMP process,” Jim Lay, phalanx Managing Member, said following the announcement. “Recent enactments may make FedRAMP a critical barrier to entry—and an opportunity—for Canadian technology companies. I applaud the embassy’s leadership in bringing timely insight to Canadian-industry stakeholders.”

About phalanx: Phalanx is a U.S.-based law firm and legal consultancy. With subject matter expertise in procurement, trade, and security, phalanx assists domestic and international corporations navigate the challenges of doing business with the U.S. Federal Government.
